Why the name?

While there were a number of front runners for this new blog name, Imperfectly Broken kept floating back to the surface I think because it describes a lot of who I am and how I feel about myself. My, albeit relatively short (almost 27 years!), life has taught me that I am quite far from perfect- so far from perfect that I'm not even perfectly broken- I'm imperfectly broken. But, it is in this imperfection and this brokenness that I find Grace- and in this grace, I find my true self.

All this is very deep and may lead you to believe that this blog itself will be quite serious and full of thoughtful ruminations...while I can't claim that I won't occasionally wonder to the profound (or at least, what I find profound), mostly this blog will be a chance for me to digest and give more intentional thought to how I see the world, how I am in the world and who I am in the world- and of course, perhaps the most important aspect, who is in my world and how that shapes my world.

I'm hoping this won't end up being an exercise in self-absorption and indulgence but rather an opportunity to catch the beauty and life in the mundane and the extraordinary.
